9N on Six Meters November 2011

With an increasing sunspot number and improving conditions on the HF bands, we are really confident to give a chance to work 9N on the Magic Band to all the devoted Sixers around. Even out of the E-sporadic season, there could be a good chance for F2 layer to build up and a special task force leaded by Guillermo XQ3SA will keep a permanent eye on the band conditions. Thanks to a dedicated station (an IC-706MKIIG) and a dedicated 5 elements yagi, fully equipped to handle pile-ups, the team will try to get the ice on cake on this hard band. Nepal in six meters is a real most wanted reference for all the aficionados of the Magic Band.

Our location and the figures from the Sunspot Cycle statistics seem to be a good enhancer for our efforts. There is no “historical” data nor literature about DXing on 6 from Nepal, so our approach will be “experimental” and the station will operate most of the time in beacon mode: any kind of spot, listening report or anything else which could help us will be very appreciated and a dedicated way to communicate with us will be established in order to get any opening to any place.

We make an open invitation to all the 6 meters enthusiatsts to donate or contribute to make this DXpedition possible, as well as to provide (whether possible) more resources to the 6 meters team in 9N. It will be really appreciated!
