EL2WS qrv 6m 24/11 - 29/11



I did not report this expedition before as i had no information they would be qrv on 6m. Today they have tried a single dipole and as EL2WS they have worked easliy EA, F, I, ON, OE, G, SP between 13.35 and 16 gmt.

AA7A has reported in on4kst chat they will look again 6m tomorrow until 18z and monday / tuesday, before closing the station.

8Q7HU qrv 6m 25/1 - 5/2

Bert CX3AN and Mario CX4CR will be active from Maafushi Island, Kaafu Atoll, Maldives as 8Q7HU between January 25 to February 5, 2012. QRV on 80-6m / CW, SSB, RTTY. [tnx DX World]

wkd 9L0W, dxcc #188 on 6m

This week propagation is quite bad here, signals are weak from Africa and nothing heard from South America. Anyway i have worked today 9L0W at 20.51 gmt for a new one on 6m (#188).

Yesterday i missed them while watching tv, 30 min off and they were in (6m band never forgive), they were qrv from 21.00 gmt to 21.40 gmt working CT and EA. After they worked PY, LU, ZP up to 24 gmt.

Today they have started calling at 20.50 gmt, so looks like they will try again next days at this time and may
work well into EU next days as conditions get better.

J6, St. Lucia, qrv 6m 21/11 - 1/2


W0MU, N1NK and G0DVJ will be active as J6/homecall from  St. Lucia (NA-108) from 21 November to 1 December. They will participate in the CQ WW DX CW Contest as J6M (QSL via N1NK and LoTW); before and after the contest they will operate SSB, CW and  digital  modes on 160-6 metres.

wkd CE4WJK, dxcc #187 on 6m

Wow, F2 and TEP are better each day.... today i have worked on 6 meters 9J2RI (KH27), ZS5Y (KF59), ZS6BUN, ZD8ZZ, LU5FF, and CE4WJK (FF45) 11.211Km at 21.51 gmt on ssb 53 both exchanges for my dxcc #187 on the magic band.

T3, Kiribati, qrv 6m 17/1 - 2/2

From 17 January to 2 February 2012, a team of six operators will be active from Kiritimati in Eastern Kiribati.
Each team member will operate with their own callsigns, with activity on 160m to 6m CW and SSB.
T32WW and T32CO will also operate both RTTY and PSK. The group will put in a full effort for the CQ WW 160m CW contest as T32XX.
The operators are:
  • T32AU (op VO1AU) QSL via VO1MX
  • T32CO (op KG8CO) QSL via KB8TXZ
  • T32LJ (op N8LJ) QSL via K8ESQ
  • T32TR (op K8AQM) QSL via KB8TXZ

After many days waiting for ZD8ZZ/ZD8F on 6 meters, and hearing every day ZD8VHF beacon, ZD8ZZ has been qrv tonight between 20.30 and 21.00 gmt on 50.110 cw. 

Have worked them at 20.31 gmt for my dxcc 186. They were not strong 519 - 529 while zd8 beacon was up to 559. 

Thanks to Tom and David for giving some of us a new one on 6 meters !

ET, Ethiopia, qrv 6m 8-13/12


Krassy K1LZ, David K3LP, Al K3VN and Curt K7CU will be active  from the ET3AA club station in Addis Ababa Ethiopia  between  8  and  13 December. Krassy will operate 80 and  40  metres,  and  David  will       operate 160 and  30  metres  during  the  local  evening  to  early morning hours; Al and Curt will be  QRV  during  day/early  morning hours on all other bands using SSB. I have exchanged a mail with David, K3LP, and they will try to be qrv on 6m if antenna installed in the club works. After mail with David, i have received another one from Sid, ET3SID/ET3AA and he will try to be qrv on 6m more often. His locator is KJ99. Today he has been calling on 50.110 at 13.00 gmt, unfortunately band was not open.


C2, Nauru, qrv 6m 10/11-6/12


C21AA - Nauru (IOTA OC-031, Grid Loc. RI39) Expedition from 10th November thru to 6th December.
It is possible that they will be on  the air in a limited manner prior to the official launch date. They expect to have 6 operators and 3 stations active on all bands 160-6m, CW/SSB/RTTY/PSK31. A dedicated station will be setup on 6 metres running in interupted beacon mode. The team will participate in the CQ WW DX Contest as a M/M or M/2 entry. Operators include Eddie VK4AN, Bill VK4FW, Eric VK4NEF, Art NJ7N, Jay W5SL and Tim NL8F. QSLing will be handled by the Pacific DXers, or via bureau to 
VK4FW. QSL's provided by VK4FW Print. The Pacific DXers DXpedition Kit will be used, plus additional equipment provided by operators. No 'spot' frequencies will be published. Watch the DX reflectors for their QRG's. An online log will be updated on a regular basis (if possible). PJ5 qrv 6m 13/11-5/12

SABA, ST. EUSTATIUS, PJ5.  Gerd, DL7VOG will be QRV as PJ5/DL7VOG from St. Eustatius, IOTA NA-145, from November 13 to December 5. Activity will be on 160 to 10 meters and 6 meters if it is open.  He will be active as PJ5G in the upcoming CQ World Wide DX CW contest. QSL both calls to home call. [thanks ARLD046 DX news]

V3, Belize, qrv 6m end November

Dennis, K2SX and Les, W2LK will be active as V31SX and  V31AO  from Belize on 22-29 November. Z24EA qrv 6m 12/11-27/11

Información de Fernando, Z21BB, me comunica que Antonio, EA4KA/DL4EA, estará en su casa de a partir de este sábado 12 de Noviembre durante 10 o 15 días y llevará consigo una yagi para 6m, así que muy posiblemente esté activo los próximos días en la banda mágica con su indicativo Z24EA.

También me informa Fernando que Eric, Z21FO, emigró a Australia en Septiembre y que Dudley, Z22JE, falleció hace un mes, le echaremos de menos en 6m. SK.

Just received an e-mail from Fernando, Z21BB, informs me that Antonio, EA4KA/DL4EA will be at his house from Saturday November 12 for 10 or 15 days and will carry a yagi for 6m, so they will be active the next few days on the magic band with his call Z24EA.

Fernando also informs me that Eric, Z21FO, emigrated to Australia in September and Dudley, Z22JE, died a month ago, will miss him on 6m. SK.

Resumen 50 MHz Octubre 2012


Ha terminado Octubre, nos vamos acercando poco a poco al máximo del ciclo solar y, por tanto, las condiciones de propagación en la banda de 6 metros también van mejorando poco a poco. Durante este mes hemos visto flujo solar por encima de 150 muchos días y ello ha hecho variar al alza las previsión del máximo del ciclo 24. Es una buena noticia!.


En la figura podéis observar la evolución del flujo solar y de las manchas solares de las últimas semanas. Las previsiones de NOAA, Space Weather Prediction Center para este mes de Noviembre son ligeramente mejores, con picos de 175 para la primera quincena de Noviembre.

La gráfica anterior la he obtenido de la web http://www.solen.info/solar/ donde podéis ver otros datos y gráficas comparativas. 

Podéis observar cómo este ciclo es muy inferior a los últimos cuatro, pero no parece que se vayan a cumplir las previsiones iniciales de que iba a ser el peor de toda la historia o de algunas que incluso pronosticaban que no se produciría ningún máximo.

De hecho cada vez se parece más a otros ciclos de menor actividad, como podemos comprobar en la comparativa con los ciclos 10, 12, 13 y 14.

Actividad: 

Además de las habituales estaciones ZS, ZP, PY, LU, CE, han estado activas 5N7M, V51KC, 9J2BO, 3XY1D, C50C, D44BS, 6V7Q, C91KHN, TU2T, 3B8DB.

Previsiones: 

Por debajo de la latitud 40N seguirán las aperturas diarias con Suramérica y Africa, con mayor probabilidad por la tarde y primeras horas de la noche. Posibles aperturas hacia Caribe. Posibilidad de aperturas por paso largo hacia el Pacífico.
Por encima de la latitud 40N y, a medida que subimos de latitud, las aperturas serán menores y más concentradas dirección al sur. Difícilmente llegarán a producirse aperturas por encima de latitud 50N.
