Italian Activity Contest 2012

Email received from Costy, IC8TEM

Hello all,

in 2012 ARI (Italian Radioamateur Association) organize I.A.C. (= Italian Activity Contest). This events are not only a contest, but also a chance for meet people on bands. In these events people meet for chatting, for doing contest, for searching DX, but it's not only contesting, because no serial number is required! In this year I will be the manager, so the logs, in EDI format (IARU R1 VHF standard), must be sent to this email address: ic8tem@gmail.com.

It's not mandatory to have qsos with Italian stations.. Aren't included EME and MS qsos, but JT65 tropo is ok, and FM directly (not by repeater). I hope that you will participate and invite other people to follow these events, because I would like to give you the opportunity for meet on bands.

Webchat (like ON4KST) and DX Cluster are ok for spot (but not for auto-spot).

Best 73s and HNY from Capri Island.
Costy IC8TEM

TN2T qrv 6m 22-31/1

The TN2T Dxpedition group is born....

Wednesday, 14 December 2011 19:27 | Written by Marc Cosemans |

After 6 months of trying  to get a license for TN, we're delighted to inform you that our next DX pedition is a GO! During our previous expedition as 9Q50ON, we made a special effort to hand out a new country on the lower bands. We logged over 500 QSO's on 160, and about 1350 QSO's on 80m. This time we will improve our RX ability with the K7TJR receiving system using 4 verticals,  to have a better S/N ratio and the possibility to switch in 4 directions. We can use this RX system simultaneous on two radio's!(80m and 160m)

On the higher bands the QSO impact will be much higher than the 9Q50ON operation, where we had few QSO's on 10m! Even 6m could be possible!

Most of the team members have been active on several Dxpedition adventures.

Our operating site is near the sea. This will improve our signal strength in most parts of the globe, especially on the lower bands.

Dates : Sunday January 22nd until Tuesday 31st
